Meditation Support Timer
A free meditation timer which lets the user know when a meditation session is finished or when it's time for the next part of the meditation session.
The application is usable for single timers as well as for schedules of timers. If all you want is a single countdown timer, press the Single Timer button. Edit Schedule allows you to create a new schedule or edit an existing one. When you want to start a previously created schedule, press the Start Schedule button.
When you started a timer or a schedule before, a Repeat Last Timer/Schedule button will appear in the left-bottom. Pressing this button will repeat the last timer or schedule.
The Settings button allows you to set a fixed volume and add your own sound files to the timer end sound options.
Meditation Support Timer supports two types of meditation timers. The normal meditation timer plays the specified end sound when the timer is finished. The awareness timer does the same, but also plays another sound with a random interval during the session.
Apart from these meditation timers, there is also a prepare timer. This timer is the same as the normal meditation timer, except that the duration is specified in seconds instead of hours and minutes. The prepare timer is used mostly in schedules, but if you want to use it as a single timer, you can.
If you want multiple timers to run, one after another, you can create a Schedule. First, press on the schedule you want to edit or select the New Schedule button to create a new one. You can also long-press an existing schedule to delete it.
After selecting a schedule, the list of timers in the schedule is shown. The schedule name appears above the timers and the Add Timer button below.
Press a timer to edit it. If you long-press a timer, you can change the order of the timers by dragging it to its new location or you can delete the timer by dragging it to the bottom of the screen.
Selecting the New Timer button allows you to add a new timer to the schedule.
The Start Schedule button in the main menu allows you to start a previously created schedule. The list of schedules appears, when you select one of them the schedule starts immediately.
The most straightforward timer type is the Meditation Timer. The timer has a duration and an end sound. Please note that the duration is in hours and minutes, not in minutes and seconds. When you choose a duration of more then two hours, the application will warn you to avoid this mistake.
The end sound is a combination of the sound type and the number of times to play the sound. Press the pull-down buttons to change the settings. When you choose a different sound type, it will be played once to let you hear what you've chosen.
When the timer is part of a schedule, the timer also has a name. This name will appear in the Countdown Timer to show you what part of the schedule is active.
The Awareness Timer has an extra option compared to the Meditation Timer: An interval sound. You can choose the minimum and maximum interval time and the sound to play. When an Awareness Timer is running, the interval sound will be played during the timer at intervals. The duration of each interval will be random within the minimum and maximum time specified.
The Prepare Timer is the same as the Meditation Timer, except that the duration is specified in seconds instead of hours and minutes. It is mainly used for short breaks between other timers, to allow you to prepare for the next part. The maximum duration is 999 seconds, about 16 minutes. When you specify a duration longer then 60 seconds, the duration will also appear between bracers in minutes and seconds on the duration button to clarify the selected duration.
The Countdown Timer
After starting a single timer or a schedule, the Countdown Timer appears. Most phones will fall asleep automatically after about a minute. This won't stop the application from functioning as designed. Please note, however, that it might take the phone a couple of seconds to update the remaining time when you turn on the display again.
